The latest in Blasters universe! We are at the City of Gothenburg’s 400 years Anniversary Festival this weekend!

Inside the Blasters Universe

Merlin and the art team developed some key action-packed visuals for the Blasters Universe. These provide a fun way for developers to showcase future in-game content while they work on inserting assets. The image below gives a glimpse of the Banshee’s new facelift. The art team will introduce additional vehicle designs soon to give players more choices when entering the floor/table battlefield.

Have you ever wondered how we can use our mobile phones in the real world to control toys our toys? We came up with an in-game reason to have the player stay close to their spacecrafts and be where the action is!

This concept sheet describes precisely how the lore for it works. Each pilot on the battlefield is accompanied by a scout drone in our story, helping feed information back to the character, things such as incoming enemies attacks or the best route to navigate over tricky terrain.

This artifact, which we’ve nicknamed “The Swallow”, can transform between an idle hovering mode, similar to a mobile phone in a user’s hand, and an active in-flight mode that resembles a conventional reconnaissance drone or a soaring bird of prey. Do not underestimate the power of the Swallow.

Jason and the team are further developing the idea from the creative hackathon, mayhem mode- a single player mode version with wave of enemies coming at you. We plan to add it as a core feature to Floorcraft: Blasters. Meanwhile Charlie and Thomas are working on an experiment for a different form of controls that will tie into what we are internally calling the “gold standard” for Blasters.

Gothenburg’s Anniversary Festival

This week Damir, Johannes, Robin and Dusko will be at the Gothenburg’s Anniversary Festival from 2–5 June at Frihamnen, where they will be showing the guests our Matterless tech and toys, and giving them the opportunity to experience it firsthand.

Robin, Charlie and Marko also worked on a Gothenburg event Navigator, which is aimed at helping the attendees to find their way around the activities at the event. We think an AR navigator would be a valuable addition to large-scale events in general, ensuring visitors don’t miss out on any of the activities or points of interest.

Would you like to see this type of tech at a large-scale event in future? Let us know below.

If you have a large-scale event coming up and would like us to pilot our navigator app, feel free to reach out to us here on LinkedIn or fill out a quick form on our website!

The hunt is on!

Andy and Jason are busy developing the treasure hunting app as our next Matterless app. Get ready to embark on an adventurous quest for hidden treasures in AR! ICYMI

ICYMI (In Case You Missed It) Damir wrote an insightful article titled Spatial Computing: Creating Intersubjectivity Between Humans & Machines, on LinkedIn. It’s a thought-provoking read that explores the fascinating realm of spatial computing. That’s it for this week! Stay tuned to our social media channels for regular updates and BTS (behind-the-scenes) shots from the Gothenburg Anniversary event.
