Fun, Factions & Floorcraft! | State of Matterless #54
Hey there Floorcraft fans! We’ve got some pretty cool new stuff in the works this week: experimenting with factions, new power-ups, and sounds galore… Read on.
Floorcraft Factions
As you know, we’ve been trying to find a way to give you a variety of vehicle styles while still keeping them uniform in aesthetic. Well, we’ve come up with a solution — Factions! Each faction will have its own unique style, so you can pick the one that suits you best. Whether you’re into sleek and futuristic hover vehicles or rough and rugged war machines, we’ve got you covered. And to make things even more exciting, we’re giving each faction a rich backstory and key characters. This means we’ll be able to run special events in the future tied to vehicle unlocks and customization options. (Sounds like a whole lot of fun!)
Speedsters and Shared Sessions
Charlie, Marko, and the team have been working on some brand-new vehicle designs that you’ll soon be able to try out.
We’re also revamping the in-app experience, so it’ll be easier and quicker for you to get into shared sessions. Plus, we’ve got a new speedster vehicle that our 3D artist Batu designed. This ride has a bunch of material color and decal options so you can really make it your own. And the best part? It comes with new engine sounds created by Dusko, making your ride totally unique.
Power-ups
Pontus has been hard at work making some improvements to the power-ups. We’ve added a new wrecking ball chain power-up that lets you swing a wrecking ball from a chain behind your speeder. We’ve also made improvements to the flamethrower, laser, proximity mines, and wrecking ball projectile power-up. We’ve added the ability to place power-up spawn points to grab a power-up on the go.
Factions, new vehicle designs, improved power-ups, and a revamped UI are just the beginning. We’re all about rich narratives, aesthetic uniformity, and player customization, and we can’t wait to see what you think of all the new and exciting updates we have in store!
